Prototyping with HarnessExpert 3D
Rapid Prototyping allows the user fast, simple access to the cable harness design. Via the placement of dummies and the definition of predefined cable routes, a cable harness design is quickly created.
Cable harness essentials; dummy objects such as wires, cables and connectors are available. The user positions the dummy connector, for example, and defines the number of contacts. Subsequently
- the predefined cable routes are defined in 3D-space
- the diameter of the branches are given
- the connector is joined to the output of the predefined cable harness and
- a preliminary rough manufacturing drawing and BOM is created.
All this takes place without a single wire appearing in the design. This process speeds up the preliminary generation of the cable harness considerably.
HarnessExpert naturally offers the option to substitute these dummy objects at a later date with real objects, developing the cable harness further, right up to the point of production.
